Built for Dakar
The 680R features an external reservoir with fixed or flexible mounting, designed for maximum heat dissipation. Filled with Reiger-specific oil, it delivers consistent damping under extreme speed, heat, and force. As a result, Reiger dampers perform flawlessly from start to finish — even in the toughest rally of all: the Dakar.
Unmatched Durability
The damper’s high-quality spherical bearing and high-temperature, low-friction seals withstand high-speed driving, jumps, mud, sand, and extreme heat. The integrated thermostat ensures consistently optimal performance, proving reliability even under the brutal conditions of rally raid.
680R Technology Highlights
The specially designed high- and low-speed compression valves provide exact control over the compression settings, so you can customize the handling to fit your preferences. The rebound adjuster allows for additional fine-tuning, improving both body control and ride comfort.
The "R" stands for reversed architecture, enabling us to control flow and pressure within the damper more efficiently, providing superior resistance against cavitation and hysteresis. This, together with all the best materials and sturdy construction makes the 680R unbeatable in enduring performance.
The reservoir bridge is precision-machined and combined with a right-side-up design to provide a strong and rigid construction. In addition, this setup minimizes flex and friction.
The optional ICS (Intelligent Compression System) activates during jumps, switching to a separate, adjustable damping curve that provides softer landings, improved comfort, and increased traction. The black handwheels next to the compression controls allow for easy adjustment.
